Published August 18, 2026. Updated September 29, 2026.
What HelperChoice is
The homepage says HelperChoice is the first service for finding domestic helpers in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. It also says HelperChoice is the largest platform in Hong Kong. The footer says it is a licensed employment agency in Hong Kong, licence number 74033. The pricing page repeats that licence number and adds POLOHK-1221-133, valid only for Hong Kong.
The about page says HelperChoice was founded in 2012 and that Yoopies acquired it in 2019. It says the company was accredited by the Migrant Workers Office in 2020 so it could process visas itself. That page shows accreditation MWOHK-2026-635-005 and Labour Department number 81334. The homepage says HelperChoice is accredited by POEA in Hong Kong, supported by DBS Foundation, working with the ILO and IOM, and featured in the SCMP.
The about page prints these figures in a block it titles Fun Facts. The figures are 300K+ registered users, 70K+ recruitments facilitated, 800K+ social media followers, 10M+ USD in placement fees saved, and 4.5 out of 5 from 400+ Google reviews.
Filipino workers appear on the homepage. One profile says the person lives in Malita, Davao Occidental. The site also links to Philippine housemaid CVs for Saudi Arabia. The homepage groups the product as Hong Kong, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. The pages read for this comparison do not describe a hire for a household in the Philippines.
How HelperChoice hiring works
- Register with an email and your details, or with Facebook. The homepage lists this as step 1.
- Publish a job offer. State the salary, benefits, duties, and what you expect.
- Pay for a subscription before you message helpers. The homepage step list tells you to contact helpers after you publish the job. The services page and the pricing page say contact starts after payment, for the length of the plan, with unlimited contacts during that period.
- The subscription renews automatically. Those pages say you cancel from the account under premium, then options, then cancel renewals. The pricing page calls the upgrade button Upgrade to Premium.
- After you choose a helper, you can buy a Hong Kong visa package. The how-to answer says that step is for Filipino helpers. The direct-hire page also lists Indonesian packages. HelperChoice says it can process a visa even when you found the helper somewhere else.
Fees and pricing
The help centre says domestic helpers pay no placement fee and no salary deduction, and that the platform stays free for them. The article is dated 1 April 2025.
Employers pay to contact helpers. The services page lists Platform Search at HK$499, starting from 2 weeks, with unlimited direct contact and 10% off the visa service once you match. The pricing page shows subscription pictures for 2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months. This page repeats only the HK$499 price, because that amount is written in the page text.
Visa processing is a separate purchase. The homepage says Hong Kong visa processing starts at HK$2,588, including when you found the helper outside HelperChoice. The rows below are the Filipino prices written on the direct-hire page, checked against the services page. Both pages say those packages do not include insurance in Hong Kong.
The services FAQ and the pricing FAQ do not match on refunds. If the visa fails, the services page offers 1 month of platform access at no charge, and the pricing page offers 3 months. If an overseas worker cannot start because of death, medical issues, or disappearance, the services page says the refund is 30%, and the pricing page says the overseas protection policy refunds 40%. Both pages say an employer who withdraws receives a 25% refund.
They also disagree on timing. The services page says finished contracts and renewals take around 3 to 4 weeks, and an overseas visa around 2 to 3 months. The pricing page says finished contracts and renewals take around 2 weeks, and an overseas visa around 3 months. Read the terms on the package you pay for.

Who should use which
Use HelperChoice for an overseas hire
Use it if you are hiring a foreign domestic helper for Hong Kong and you want the marketplace and the visa package in one place. The homepage also advertises maid search for Singapore and housemaid search for Saudi Arabia, including Musaned support. Filipino profiles on that site are for those jobs.
Use helpers.ph for a home in the Philippines
Use helpers.ph if the helper will work in your home in the Philippines. You can browse and shortlist profiles without paying. Connect is the paid step for messages and job posts, and the price is on the pricing page before checkout. Helpers keep the wage you agree. Read the kasambahay hiring guide and the vetting guide before you treat a badge as the whole check.
What the verified badge covers
The help centre says helpers write their own profile text. It tells employers to check contract status and work experience in the interview. The verified badge means HelperChoice asked for a passport, a local ID, and a current visa. The article says verified profiles can appear at the top of search.
The pricing page also says verified applicants are passport-ready and video-verified. That sentence is a different claim from the help-centre badge. Neither page describes an NBI clearance or a check built for a Philippine household.
Strengths and limits
The help centre says helpers pay no placement fee and no salary deduction. HelperChoice also publishes named Hong Kong visa packages, a path to cancel the renewing subscription, and licence number 74033 on the footer. The about page adds the 2012 founding date, the Yoopies acquisition, and the MWO accreditation claim.
A yaya job in Quezon City or Cebu is a different hire. The verified badge is not an NBI clearance. Profile stories are written by the helper. The subscription renews automatically. The services page and the pricing page disagree on refund percentages and on visa timing, so read the page attached to the payment.

Questions to ask before you pay or accept a match
- Is the price one-time, monthly, auto-renewing, or tied to a successful placement?
- What exactly is included: browsing, messaging, shortlist, interviews, contracts, replacement, mediation, or refunds?
- Which checks were completed by the platform, and which must the family or helper do independently?
- Who owns the profile and conversation if the match does not work? Can either side leave safely?
- Are worker fees prohibited, and are salary, rest day, duties, and benefits written before work begins?
- Does the service actually cover the city and role you need, rather than showing a broad national or overseas search?
